The question, "How to live well now and save for the big retirement ", has been on my mind lately..Frankly, I have no answer...

When we were young, retirement sounds so far away, but it becomes a
popular topic once we hit the BIG "40"..Whenever there is a gathering, someone will always bring up that topic.

After listening to some of our
friends, I suddently feel the pressure of needing to save more.. Most of our friends and family are telling us that we will need to save 4 to 6 million dollars for our golden years... Gosh... How can one save that amount of cash without winning a lottery?

Someone was telling us about various methods of investing.. After losing some money in the mutual fund during the internet bubbles, I've decided not to trust financial advisors nor any other making money schemes.. My husband and I have long decided that our best sure method is showing up to work everyday.

Since there is no way that I can figure out how to make more money, the other thought is how to save more..Now, this will need our entire family's support. My husband has cut down most of his expenses. He doesn't eat out at work, and he is cutting his own hair(by his choice).. The man really doesn't spend much money..Of course, I can cut down my eating out, which I have been trying this past few weeks, but I still need to go to some of my happy hours, because it is work related..I can not cut down on air-conditioning in the summer, cable, phone bills..etc. Otherwise, my honey and my child will have a fit...

Anyway, we've decided to record our expenses for this month, so we can see where our money goes, and we also need to know how much does it costs for us to survive, so we know how much we need to save for the retirement.

4 to 6 M??? .No way... No how... It must be a joke...I can only hope...
