Sara, I understand the way the man said "..got caught in the moment" could be confusing. Most people would say in stead, "..got caught UP in the moment". Judging by the context though, it doesn seem to mean "being arrested".

Sara, the Insider Trading article is very interesting! I want to offer my point of view regarding the translation as follow:
"I had planned to make it look natural, you know, lose a little here and there so it doesn look too perfect. But I just got caught in the moment."
我已計畫讓整件事看起來很自然,就是,這裡輸一點那裡輸一點,這樣就不會看起來太完美。但我就是太沉迷於之中了。
回覆:
Thank you very much, Ruby. ^^
Ive revised part of them, yet the last sentence you wrote Im not sure is right or not.
I feel "got caught" means being arrested.

星媽: 星媽 的留言
鼻熊, I found this:
Mojo is from Black English, first recorded in the mid-1920s. It is common throughout the South. The earliest recorded usages are in reference to the blues and jazz music. The meaning has always been magic, charm, or amulet or more broadly the power and influence derived from such a supernatural source.
It is probably African in origin. Gullah (the dialect of the South Carolina Atlantic islands) has the word moco meaning witchcraft or magic. And the Fulani language of Africa has the word mocoo meaning a shaman.

我想 婚姻對我而言也是必需是自由的才行;
當兩造無法再達到心靈互通的時候,covenant marriage就變成一個死胡同.....
妳說 是嗎?︿︿"
回覆:
對啊 婚姻勉強不來 只要有ㄧ方不願意繼續 就應該散了
covenant marriage的目的大概希望大家不要那麼衝動就離婚吧?!

電影是描述幾個貌美啦啦隊的青少女之間的故事...
mean girl??

Sir, we’re all civilized people. If there is any problem, we should deal with it in a civilizing way. I believe that if the same thing happened to your race, you wouldn’t treat them like that, right? Today, you treated us like this made us feel so disappointed at you.

Hello Sara,
I am going to cut to the chase. ^_^ I have a couple of suggestions/comments about those two articles:
1. math application - apply math to (everyday life)
2. sheriff`s deputy -- is a real job (perm. not temp.) I know its really hard to translate that job title. I myself dont know what to call it in Chinese either. I dont know if 代理人 is good enough. I think the job is more like an assistant to the sheriff to take some of the sheriff`s workload. This is really hard to explain...
I guess I am just hoping that you can think of something better for 代理人 than I can. ^_^
3. From your translation, I am not sure if you understand this one or not. Just in case you dont, I put it here too. Hope you dont mind. ^_^
reality check -- assessing the situation to make sure what is practical
i.e. I think its time to stop and perform a reality check.

回覆:
1.Yes, bosom friends are similar to close friends sometimes. It depends on how you look at them.
2.Yes, its a bit extreme to do that, yet the reason is that this couple was desperate, because every solution they used didn work out.
3. You are right, yet the hercafe website omits "comma," so when I posted "can’t " ,the abbreviation, it became "can", unless I wrote the messages on the Microsoft Word first. Thanks for reading mine carefully.^^

sara,
what are the meaning of bosom friends and fair- weather friends?
i used to think that close friends is same as real friends? doesnt it? then what is the differences?
and xing ma thanks for solve my pizza delivery question..
rain
回覆:
bosom friends 知心朋友
fair- weather friends 酒肉朋友
close friends 親密的朋友
real friends真正的朋友
Generally speaking, one can regard close friends as real friends, but because of that saying," a friend in need is a friend indeed," I think they are still a little different.
Close friends: 2 people often hang out together, yet, they can be fair-weather friends as well, right?
As for real friends, they help you when you are in trouble, and they can be friends who are always close to you or far away from you, yet they come to help you, when you need others help.^^
-
星媽: 星媽 的留言
But, "A friend" in need is "a friend" indeed. Arent they the same person? ^_^
回覆:
Yes, they are the same.
The points are "in need "and "indeed."
當你【貧困時】,一位朋友適時出現援助,這位朋友,是【真正】的朋友。
We can divide friends into several groups.
1. fair-weather friends
2. close friends
3. say-hello friends
4. real friends
5. bosom friends/bosom buddies
They are all so-called friends, yet the level is different.
In the past, I thought one of my bosom friends is my real friend, yet it is not. In the end, I realized that she is my fair-weather friend.(It hurt so much then.)

補充一下,那句牛排的句子可以寫為這樣:
How do you like your steak to be cooked?
to be 省略了,所以變成星媽解釋的那樣。

我有個問題。。為什么sara的那個steaks conversation的waiter asked: how would you like your steak [cooked]?
為什么用cooked 不是cook? +ed不都是用在past tense 嗎?
請解答我的疑惑。。
thanks
回覆:
cooked是過去分詞當形容詞 形容steak 要怎樣被煮 Got it? ^_^ -- 星媽

To Sara,
Hello Sara, you did a really good job translating the news. Glad to hear that Taiwans economy is still going strong. However, there is one thing I am not sure if you know or not that the city and the countrys name in the beginning of the article indicate where the journalist reporting from, like STOCKHOLM, Sweden in the news.
I am pretty sure you know about this already - I guess you probably just had butter fingers then. ^_^
回覆:
Thank you for reminding me of that. You are my helpful editor.^^
Love,
Sara

星媽, 看完妳這篇, 我突然想到一句音差不多, 意思卻差十萬八千里, "sue your pants off", 不是針對妳啦, of course,
我唸MBA時, Business Law教授說常常在說, 很神經吧, 哈哈...
I am gonna sue your pants off(就是要上法庭告你, 告到連你褲子都要脫下來, 讓你破產到連褲子都沒得穿的意思)

你貼的這貼好有趣哦. ^_* 連大衛先生聽了也覺得很有趣呢!
我也對你說的片語很頭痛呢! 像是knock out, knock off, knock down.....我永遠會搞混. 很多時候on, in ,at ..也是搞不清楚..@_@

我同意Kay的說法 大家各取所需!
我對於那些有介係詞的片語特別沒有sense 像 最近的幾篇suck up to.... tell on.... 怎麼知道什麼時候要用to什麼時候要用on???
有時候真是套句朋友的話: "每個單字都認識 連起來怎麼都看不懂" @_@
回覆:
我想了很久 我覺得這個很難解釋ㄋㄟ 為什麼suck up to not on? Hmmmm....
